AUSD Staff, Parents, Students, & Community:

The results of the Presidential election have invoked strong emotions in our students that may continue for some time. This is a teachable moment as students of all ages are asking questions that need answering. We encourage parents to seek out helpful resource to answer some of those difficult questions and ease some of their children’s concerns.

Although this election has been challenging for many of us, we can count on the Albany community to be thoughtful, caring and compassionate. Together we will model this behavior for our students. AUSD will continue to offer our support to staff, parents, students, and the Albany community as we move on from this election together.

Marin School Honors our Veterans

Marin School Honors our Veterans
In honor of Veteran's Day, we displayed pictures of Marin family members and staff who served or are currently serving in the Armed Forces. We collected a number of pictures and memorabilia which were on display outside our main office. We also invited students to write letters to two different organization. We collected over 100 letters and will send them to the sailors currently serving aboard the USS Eisenhower and to the retired veterans residing at the Alameda County Veteran's Hospital in Livermore.
Thank you Marin!

“RESPECT MY SPIRIT”: On Wednesday, November 2nd, Marin students will be invited to participate in our "Respect my Spirit" day and a salute to the veterans in our community. Ms Halperin's room 13 students will be hosting a "write a letter to a veteran" activity. Our hope is to create a collage of pictures from Marin families who are, or who know, a veteran to add to our display table. If you have pictures of a friend or family member whom we can recognize and thank on that day, please send a picture and short description to the main office or to and Thank you!
