KINDERGARTEN & TK MUSIC FUNDRAISER CONCERT:
Jingle Jeff invites everyone to attend the Kindergarten/TK Music Fundraiser Concert on Saturday,January 28th, 1:00 pm, in the Ocean View multi-purpose room.
Jingle Jeff is one of the elementary music teachers and he is asking for your support in helping the only students in the district, who do not receive music classes funded by AUSD: Kindergartners & TK students. The fact is, we appreciate that AUSD provides music for EVERY student in our district, 1st Grade through 12th Grade, EVERY week of the school year; BUT, not Kindergartners, nor TK students. Please attend this very important fundraiser so these students can receive music classes next year. We are trying to raise $35,000 for this to happen. You can also donate at albanymusic.org and note your donation is for Kindergarten/TK students. Concert Performers: Kindergartners from all three schools; 5th Grade Musical Theater Students from Cornell, Marin & Ocean View; 6th Grade AMS Choir; AHS Vocal Soul and more. Parent Education Evening – Cornell MPR;Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at 7:00 pm "The Dynamics of Status Among School-Age Children" with Patricia Contaxis, MFT.

Civility in public discourse is currently a hot topic. School-age children are developmentally ripe to learn the rules and ways to maintain a civil society. Toward this end, teachers and parents are perfectly situated to teach, encourage, remind and correct the children in their care. In tonight’s talk, Patricia Contaxis, MFT, will explain how children jockey for status, the actual behaviors that they employ to raise and lower their own status and the status of those around them, and how parents and teachers can intervene to correct any adverse effects of these social behaviors. While we will be focusing on children, these behaviors are used throughout the life-cycle and tonight’s talk will also be relevant to adult interactions.

Child care is limited - please contact steffibaldwin@yahoo.com and include names of parent and children, ages of children and phone number.
