PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Dear Marin Families,

It’s been a FANTASTIC first week! It has been an absolute pleasure to meet many of you and your students and see them getting to know each other and settling back into our routines. Thank you for the warm welcome and sharing your children with us. School always feels better once the kids are back!

Back-to-School Night is right around the corner! Mark your calendars for ThursdayAugust 27, 6-7pm. This is an adult-only event. Our fabulous PTA is offering childcare! Please see more information from the PTA below.

Have a wonderful weekend. I hope to see many of you at the PTA Playdates tomorrow!

With appreciation,

Ginger Cook

Principal

Drop Off

It was awesome to see so many of you biking or walking to school. I hear we have a tradition of walking school buses. I hope you can organize with your neighbors to keep this going.

For those of you driving, great job with drop offs on Curtis and Santa Fe this first week. Please continue to be ready to drop your child efficiently when in the loading zone to keep traffic moving. The loading zone is solely for drop off. Please DO NOT PARK or leave your car in the loading zones.

To keep our neighbors happy, please also be mindful to not block any driveways. They thank you!

NO NUTS AT SCHOOL

Just a reminder that Marin is a nut-free school, which means no snacks/bars containing nuts and no sandwiches containing peanut butter, almond butter, Nutella/hazelnut spreads, etc.  Please be sure to pack only nut-free snacks and lunches for your student(s).

Clearing Campus after 8:30

It’s important to have students in their classrooms to get the day started. Families, please say goodbye to your students and exit campus at 8:30am. Thank you!

Coming by office/ late pass - anything for kids

Arriving late? Need to drop something off? Please stop at the office!

Grade-level Welcome Back Playdates and New Principal Meet & Greet

Join us on Saturday, August 15 (TOMORROW) at 10:00 (TK & K) and 11:00 (grades 1-5) for a casual play date at Terrace Park and an opportunity to meet our new principal, Ginger Cook! Bring your refillable water bottle and a picnic blanket, and connect with friends old and new. The PTA will provide some snacks and beverages (and popsicles for the first 30 folks to show up, or until they melt!).

PTA Meetings

Join us for the first PTA meeting of the year on Thursday, August 20th at 6:30pm. We'll cover our PTA goals for the year, present the annual budget for approval, hear a special student entrepreneurial pitch, and wrap up with time to socialize. All are welcome!

Meetings are hybrid (in person with food/drinks, or online). Future dates will be announced in this Friday newsletter via Parent Square.

Free Child Care During Back to School Night

Back to School night is Thursday, August 27th and is an adult-only event. To help make it easier for families to attend, the PTA is offering free child care during the event. Space is limited, please sign up here in advance so we can plan appropriately.

The PTA will have an info table 15 minutes before and after the meeting (5:45-6pm and 7-7:15pm) at the blue tables under the canopy — stop by to learn how to get involved!

International Potluck

The International Potluck is back! Join the fun on Thursday, September 3rd at 5:30pm at Marin. Meet new people, welcome new families, catch up with old friends, and enjoy music and international cuisine. Bring a (nut-free) favorite dish from your heritage or a household favorite to share. We are looking for volunteers for set-up, the event, and clean-up — sign up here

Movie Night

Our first movie night will be Friday, September 25th. Join us for pizza and a family movie in the Marin Multipurpose Room (MPR). Tickets can be purchased here, and admission is FREE for Turtle, Dolphin and Dolphin Circle PTA members (join here!).
