PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Dear Marin Families,

Happy Friday! Along with the joyful learning and hard work I get to see in classrooms across our school, I’m excited about other chances we have to get together as a community in the next week: our annual STEM day (tomorrow from 11am-1pm), Family Math Night on Tuesday, and our Halloween Parade at 12:50pm next Friday.

Halloween Details

I love all the creativity and delight that accompanies Halloween elementary school style. Here are a few reminders for those of you who are new to our school about how we celebrate at Marin:

  • Keep costumes school appropriate. No weapons/ fake weapons/ weapons of any sort are allowed at school as part of costumes. And please make sure costumes aren’t too scary for the littles (no blood, masks, gore). TK and K kiddos will be seeing your children.

  • Students come dressed in their costumes for the day.

  • You’re welcome to join us for our school-wide parade! Our parade starts just after 12:50. Please enter at Santa Fe Ave steps starting at 12:45. Be prepared to sign in in the atrium and get a visitor sticker as we always require for visitors.

PTA / Family Thank Yous!

Thank you to our PTA volunteers for their hard work putting together our STEM day. And a special shout out to the 4th grade families for supplying a bountiful, beautiful lunch spread for the teachers and staff this week! 3rd grade families, we’re looking forward to your hosted teacher appreciation lunch next month, stay tuned for a message from your room parent.

Next week we’ll share more about the parent-teacher conferences, minimum days, and the full-release drill on Wed. Nov. 4. See this ParentSquare post from Monday, Oct. 19.

Thanks for all you do to support your kiddos and our great school. Hope to see you tomorrow -

With appreciation,

Ginger

Turkey Trot

Save the Date for Marin's First Turkey Trot! Start Thanksgiving morning with fun and fitness. Marin Elementary PTA is hosting a family-friendly 5K and 1 mile kids run in Tilden Park on Thursday, November 26th. The 5k will start at 9am and the 1 mile kids run will start at 10am. Kids under 12 can choose to run the 5k, the 1 miler, or both! This is a fun run to support the PTA and 5th grade outdoor education overnight. Parking is at Tilden Nature Area next to the Little Farm and the course will be an out and back along Wildcat Creek Trail. Timing will be unofficial — we're not using bibs or chip timers, so finish times are for your own satisfaction, not for the record books. More information, registration and volunteer signups can be found here.
