Dear Marin Families,
What a full week we had! Thank you so much to all who participated in our 4th Annual Full-Release Emergency Drill. Staff report this was the smoothest drill yet, with ~75 students reunited with families in ~20 minutes. We are continuing to make shifts to ensure we are even more prepared in an emergency. This is possible because of our partnership with you. Thanks again.

MARIN MORNING RECAP
For those you weren’t able to attend this month’s Marin Morning, along with some singing and a performance by 3rd grade, we focused on our practice of gratitude and of helping others. We built on the concept in this book many of the teachers have read with the children and the power of being “bucket fillers” instead of “bucket dippers.”
Students shared some heartfelt things they are grateful for here at school, including one who shared his gratitude for all he has learned over the years from his many teachers and another new fourth grader sharing how welcomed she has felt by everyone.
At Marin Morning, we also talked about ways we can help others locally and globally.

Student Council Fundraiser for Nepal Flood Victims
Student Council members shared their plan to raise money for the flooding victims of Nepal. You can help! They are hosting 3 different Bake Sales on Dec. 2, 9, and 16th (3 consecutive Wednesdays).
WE NEED BAKED GOODS! Please sign up to bring a baked good on any/all of the days. PLEASE NOTE: NO NUTS!!!! Please include an ingredient list for your item on the day of the Bake Sale. Baked goods can be dropped off at the front office on the morning of the Bake Sale! Thanks for all of your help!
Marin Annual Food Drive
Please help with our Food Drive for local food banks. We ask that food is non-perishable - much needed items include lentils, beans, pasta, cereal, rice, and canned vegetables. Please have your children drop items off before school or during recess in one of the boxes outside of the office. May your holidays be joyous and peaceful.

Gratitude for our first trimester There are so many reasons to feel grateful here in November, and so many of them are rooted in the people who make up our Marin Community.
Parents, I am grateful for your commitment to our school community, the kindness and care you show one another, and the meaningful ways you have connected with me as we work together to support your children. I am incredibly grateful for your fabulous children and the joy, kindness, curiosity, and perseverance they bring to school each day. And finally I’m so grateful for our teachers and staff. They care deeply about your children and bring such reflection and intention to all that they do.
Thank you for all you do to help make Marin a place where everyone feels known, cared for, and welcomed.
