Arab American Heritage Month
April is Arab American Heritage Month—a time to honor the rich cultures, histories, and contributions of Arab American communities. At the March 25 meeting, the Board of Education read a Proclamation recognizing this important month. Arab Americans are often underrepresented in data and public discourse due to being classified as “White” in many systems, which can obscure their unique identities. Throughout April, our schools will celebrate Arab American heritage and deepen students’ understanding as part of our ongoing commitment to equity and inclusion.
Easy Way To Add Your Student’s Insurance Information
The Children and Youth Behavioral Health Initiative (CYBHI) is a statewide initiative that requires insurance companies to reimburse school districts for mental health services provided by schools to students. This reimbursement will come directly from the insurance companies, at no cost to parents or guardians. This program will not affect your insurance coverage (i.e., no co-pays, no higher premiums or deductibles), and receiving services at school will not reduce or impact students or their family's ability to obtain care outside of school. This is truly a win-win situation for students and our district, as these reimbursements will help extend AUSD’s budget and support and grow our mental health services. Please use this link to add your child’s health insurance information using this easy form. If you have already added your information directly to the AERIES parent portal, thank you very much, it is not necessary re-enter.

Mes de la Herencia Árabe Americana
