SCHOOL SAFETY AND SECURITY: In the wake of the tragedy at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, please know that school safety and your children’s security is in our minds here at Marin. The staff and I, along with the District Leadership Team, have been in discussions about our emergency drill procedures and all the actions we take to ensure safety on campus. We regularly practice all types of safety drills, including lockdown drills, to improve our ability to react in the event of emergency. We revise procedures regularly as we learn new and better ways to be prepared. Please do not hesitate to contact if you have questions or would like to share ideas.
HANDS AROUND MARIN – NATIONAL SCHOOL “WALK-OUT” ON MARCH 14th: Marin will be combining our March, “No Place For Hate” focus, on allies and upstanders with supporting the National School Walk-Out on Wednesday,
March 14th, 10:00-10:17. Each teacher will be showing at least one of the following videos:
(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eeqQCyQOCPg or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rpOvYWd4KW4).
After having a discussion of ally and upstander behavior, students will create cards about safe schools. We'll bring our cards to the "walk-out" on the 14th and pass them around, as we sing and reflect on being allies and upstanders for school safety.
