Daylight Saving Time Ends: Please remember to turn your clocks back one hour on Sunday morning, November 1st. We hope to see your child Zooming on time Monday morning!

Readiness Dashboard While Alameda County granted permission for schools to open on October 13th due to a consistent drop in COVID cases, they subsequently published their criteria that districts must fulfill in order to reopen. In order to be transparent about where our district is at in fulfilling these requirements, AUSD has posted a Readiness Dashboard on its website to indicate how close we are to being ready to reopen. In addition, the AUSD school board voted to have preschool hubs and hubs for our most vulnerable students return to school in person on November 2nd. Elementary K-5 students are targeted to come back to school in person in January. The district is working hard to make this happen. All dates for returning in person are contingent on ACOE guidelines as they monitor changes in COVID cases, and our readiness to open school.

BOARD HOLIDAY - TOMORROW Friday, October 16, is a Board Holiday - No school for students. Classes will resume on Monday, October 19. Enjoy a long weekend!

Last Chance for School Photos If your child was not able to come to Marin on photo days this week (Wednesday and Thursday), you have another opportunity to have your child’s picture taken. You can sign up and take your child to Cornell School during their photo days, this coming Wednesday 8:00 am-12:00 pm and Thursday Noon - 4:00 pm. When you arrive, please let them know you are from Marin School. Don’t forget to SMILE!

Superintendent Wells will present an update on the status of reopening schools and will detail plans to pivot to a hybrid model of instruction at a Special School Board Meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 6th.

AUSD is partnering with Kinsa’s FLUency School Health Program This optional program offers families a free FDA-cleared Kinsa Smart thermometer and smartphone app to help connect parents and school staff on issues of student health, enabling quicker detection of spreading illness and rapid response to help keep students well.
