MARIN MORNING & COFFEE WITH PRINCIPAL PFOHL: Wednesday morning, February 5th, please join us in the big yard at 8:30 am for our Marin Morning and immediately after, have coffee with Principal Pfohl.

CALIFORNIA HEALTHY KIDS PARENT SURVEY: This survey provides detailed data related to three state priorities — school climate, pupil engagement, and parent involvement. Staff, parents and 5th-grade students take this survey every two years. Please use the following link to take the parent survey: surveys.wested.org/csps/MX674CN. If you have more than one child at this school, please complete one survey for each child. The parent survey will be available online until January 31st. Thank you!

WELCOME BACK: It may be cool outside, but in Marin classrooms we are busy and warm, settling into the new year. It is good to have all your children back with us. Happy New Year!

WINTER BREAK REMINDER: Albany Schools will be closed for two weeks beginning Monday, December 23rd, 2019. We return to school on Monday, January 6th, 2020. Happy Holidays!

NOT RETURNING AFTER WINTER BREAK: If you plan on moving (out of Albany) during winter break, please inform your child’s teacher and Janet or Natalie in the office that your child will not be returning to Marin school after the holidays (last day of school 12/20/19). If you need a document stating your child has been enrolled at Marin, please see Janet in the office. Also, please complete the “EXIT” form online (to be completed before leaving), at ausdk12.org under “Enrollment”.

MOVIE NIGHT – THE LION KING: Our next Marin Movie Night is Friday, December 13th. Doors open at 6:00 pm. and we'll be showing Disney's The Lion King.

THANKSGIVING HOLIDAYS: There will be no school November 27th– 29th in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. The Staff and I wish you and your family a happy, peaceful and safe holiday weekend. When school resumes on Monday, December 2nd, we return to our regular schedule.

NOVEMBER BEHAVIOR FOCUS: This month, we are reminding students of the importance of walking in the hallway and talking quietly. Walking in the hallway is part of being safe at school. Talking quietly is part of being respectful at school, as classes are on varied schedules and loud hallways interrupt teaching and
learning. Parents, please help us in our efforts by reminding kids to walk and by not having conversations next to classrooms when you are dropping off or picking up students. Thank you!

MONDAY, November 11th is Veterans Day. School will be closed.
FALL PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCES, NOVEMBER 12th-26th: Fall Conferences start on Tuesday (day after Veterans Day). These will be early release days (Wednesday schedule) so plan now for the schedule change:8:30-1:45 for1st -3 rd and 8:30-1:40 for 4th and 5th. No schedule change for Kindergarten. Please inform your childcare. Thanks!
